All Sorts of Unrelated Nonsense - ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT!
For those of you who haven't put in your order to be eligible for the drawing (see below), you only have a few days left.  The fundraising sale ends on September 29, which is this Thursday.   To refresh your memory, it is fundraising time for my son's school, and he's brought home a ton of catalogs with cool stuff in them.  I put together a sales page to highlight all of these items, from magazine subscriptions to first aid kits, plus two independent websites that have a lot of their own stuff, including candy, housewares, jewelry, and much more.  Anyone who wishes to help out can find the sale items at the link shown below.  Hurry!

SPECIAL FOR NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBERS ONLY!
Each person who submits an order will be put into a drawing for the crystal necklace seen here:
This is a $15 value, and it could be yours FREE if yours is the lucky name that we draw!

Stone Fun Facts
Serpentine
** Serpentine is a combination of several minerals in differing concentrations.  Thus, there are many different looks to this stone.  Antigorite is a dark green color while New Jade (which is not a real jade) is a light green.
** The mineral Serpentine, which colors the rocks used in gems, is rather common.  Most rocks that contain some green usually have Serpentine in them.
** The name Serpentine comes from the fact that it often has a scaly appearance like snakeskin.
** Crystals healers use Serpentine to help reduce swelling, and to ease the symptoms of asthma.  It is said to improve the milk production when worn by nursing mothers.
** Serpentine is thought to bring happiness, success, friendliness, and independence.  It brings respect for the elderly and the wisdom they are able to provide.  It is thought to be particularly protective of fathers, and so it makes a good gift for Father's Day.
** Serpentine was highly prized by the Aztecs, who valued all green stones.
** Long ago, Italian witches (streghe) believed that carrying small pebbles of Serpentine would protect you from the bits of animals such as snakes.  If the person had already been bitten, the stone was thought to be able to pull the toxins out.

News & Stuff
Google AdWords
I have signed up for Google AdWords, which is an advertising medium.  You know when you do a Google search, and a couple of boxes appear on the right-hand side?  Those boxes are all ads that webmasters pay to run on Google, and they are based on specific keywords.  Each ad costs anywhere from a few pennies to a quarter when it is clicked, so if you ever do a Google search and find an Ephemerala ad to the right, please DO NOT CLICK IT!  You already know where to find me, so leave the costly clicks to find new customers.
So far, I haven't seen any significant increase in sales, but I will give it a few weeks.  We might just be in a slow spot due to gas prices and whatnot.  I expect a fresh influx of sales toward the holidays.

The Newsletter Becomes Fortnightly
This is the last week we'll be sending the newsletter out weekly.  After this, it will be written and sent once every two weeks.  Each newsletter will announce the new sales and all new items.

Penny Sale
Every two weeks, I hide a new special offer somewhere on my online site.  This listing will offer a certain product for ONE CENT, with any purchase of $10.00 or more.  The item and its location will change every two weeks, so be sure to look often.  Simply got to my online store site:

Insider's Special
Fifty Cent Bags o' Beads
During our recent housecleaning, we came up with a whole lot of bags of beads that don't really seem to fit anywhere.  These might be partial bags (such as the last remaining 24 beads on the strand), odd sizes, colors that don't really match with the rest of the batch, leftovers, mixes, discontinued items, things we never got around to listing, etc. etc.  We are making all these beads available to our "special" customers at fifty cents per bag.  For those of you who really like to take a chance, this is your moment!  These are great for earring projects and "eclectic" beadwork.  There is no limit to the number of bags you can buy.
Fifty Cent Beads Offer is good through October 9, 2005
