Assorted Non-Gem Items on eBay
I will be spending the next two or three weeks listing all
sorts of unrelated items on eBay. I hope to list a few every day.
(See more about this in the "News & Stuff" section below.) If you care
to check out whatever books, CDs, and knick knacks I'll be selling, check out my
auctions at
(I will also be listing the regular chips and marbles
auctions, but fewer.)
Herkimer Diamonds
Beautiful little double-terminated Quartz crystals from
Herkimer, New York. You can use these for wire wrapping, but I like 'em
just for looking at.
Marble/Egg Display Cases
Hand made oak display cases. EXCELLENT quality. I
have two of these myself (yep, I collect marbles and eggs!), and highly
recommend them for anyone wanting to showcase their collection. The
sliding Plexiglas cover makes changing your display easy while providing great
protection for it.
Cat's Eye Power Bracelets
Standard Power Bracelets with mainly multicolored Cat's Eye beads.
You can choose your color combinations, or let us surprise you.

Stone Fun Facts
Kambaba Jasper
(Please see general information on Jasper HERE.)
** Kambaba Jasper is a fossilized Jasper found on Madagascar, off the coast
of Africa. Its main colors are dark and mint green swirled together.
**
This stone is highly prized for its exotic colors and patterns. The
patterns bring to mind a rainforest as seen from above. It is an excellent
stone for cabbing.
** Crystal healers use Kambaba Jasper to aid in dietary
stabilization. It helps the body to assimilate vitamins and minerals from
foods, and it helps to cleanse the body of toxins.
** It is also thought to aid in the healing process after an illness or
injury.
** Kambaba Jasper is said to soothe the nerves and calm the mind. It
promotes a feeling of peace in the wearer. It brings wisdom and the
ability to get along with others.
** Kambaba Jasper is thought to be
beneficial for plant growth and health, particularly in arid areas with poor
soil. (I think I will go hang some out in my garden right now...)

News & Stuff
A Change on eBay
I was recently thinking about how eBay has changed
in the few years since I started selling. I remember great deals and
bidding wars, good prices with shipping that actually reflected the postage and
packaging costs, that sort of thing. I got a longing for "the old days"
when I used to start auctions at a couple of dollars and see the bids
skyrocket. I used eBay like the world's biggest garage sale, and it was
fun because selling things I no longer needed was the main goal, and the money
was an added bonus.
So this week and next, I am going to take
inventory of all those books, CDs, and odds & ends that have been in the "to
be sold on eBay" boxes in a corner of the Dungeon (the bead room) for
years. I have an eclectic assortment of books, CDs, karaoke discs,
clothes, probably a few toys, maybe some knick knacks, this & that.
Hopefully this trip down memory lane--those days before I had the exact same
auctions week after week and got to watch the bids stack up--will refresh me and
make eBay fun for me again! (Anyone wanting to check out the new auctions
can go to
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfrppZ50QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQrdZ0QQsassZephemerala every
few days to see the newest items!)
E-mail Forward Issues?
It has come to my attention that some of my
subscribers are getting e-mails that can only be opened after multiple
clicks. I typically take the previous issue and forward it, changing it to
reflect the new date and the new items and specials. I didn't realize that
some mail servers hide the new e-mail within the old one, and that some of you
have had to click as many as thirty times to get to the most recent
message!
This issue, I have created a brand new e-mail, not
a forward. Please let me know if the problem disappears.
Postal Increases in Effect
With the new postal charges implemented yesterday,
this means a few changes to our shipping charges. For now, I am going to
keep the regular First Class shipping costs as they are. If, over time, I
see a significant difference between what customers pay and the actual cost, I
will consider raising it, but for now I'd like to try keeping it at the usual
$1.00 base fee with a small added fee for each item (currently 10 cents for
small items, and more for heavier items).
I have raised the cost of Priority
shipping to a base fee of $4.50, up from the old base fee of $4.00.
International shipping costs are currently the
same; I may change this in the future.
