New Sizes in Brazilian Agate
Slabs
We now offer a couple of different sizes of Brazilian Agate
Slabs. I know some of you were getting bored because I was running out and
only had blue ones left, but we've now replenished our stock and have all six
colors again. See all our Agate products here:
Soapstone Animals
These are BEAUTIFUL! I am used to seeing soapstone in
that gray-green color only, but these are gray, red, yellow, really bright and
lovely. All sorts of different animals. They are so cute. If
you like animal display items, these are perfect for you.

Stone Fun Facts
Cinnabar
** The bad news is that Cinnabar is highly toxic.
It is a bright red ore of mercury; the main ore of this poisonous
metal. Any beads made out of natural Cinnabar would be very dangerous to
wear, as the body's heat would be enough to vaporize the mercury out of the
stone and allow it to be absorbed through the skin. Yikes.
** The good news is that we don't carry real Cinnabar beads! Our
beads are made in the same way most Cinnabar jewelry is made these days. A
polyester plastic resin is layered, molded, and then machine-cut or hand-carved
into the desired shapes.
** The name "Cinnabar" comes from the Latin cinnabaris, which was their
word for the mercury ore.
** Any jewelry vendor who claims to be selling real Cinnabar jewelry is
either lying or trying to kill you. Be wary of such sellers.

News & Stuff
Huge Price Drop on Ugly Fake Turquoise
Fetishes
I got these a year or two ago, and they are so ugly that my son doesn't
even want one. And that says a lot, because Ewan has an extensive
collection of Ephemerala jewelry (nice items as well as lots of broken
throwaways), and generally isn't picky. They are made from what I think is
dyed Howlite, but the dye is so thick that it is hard to see the original stone
underneath. And sometimes the "Turquoise" looks a little more like "Lapis"
because it is so dark. They are carved in an assortment of native fetish
designs. You will need to string a cord through their little heads in
order to wear them, except for Kokopelli, who has a bail. Once selling for
$2.00 each, I have now lowered them to a mere quarter each. Yes, that's
right, I want to get rid of them. Buy up a handful of them to give away at
kids' parties or to disliked co-workers at the Secret Santa party.
Less Huge But Still Interesting Price Drop on Rose
Quartz Points
These are not ugly, and they are not low quality. On the contrary,
they are quite nice. But I have tons of them and am looking to thin them
out a bit, so I cut the price from $2 to $1. Enjoy!
And Yet Another Price Drop on Tulsi
Beads
These are nice, but I don't think I got more than one or two sales of
them. Time to go. In case you didn't know, they are interesting
wooden beads of the Basil family. They definitely have a place, but people
who make wooden beaded jewelry generally are not browsing my gemstone site, so
they've gotten unfairly overlooked and need to leave.
Price Drop on Ostrich Shell
Beads
I thought these would be HUGE. They are really rare, people!
Yeah, they are ugly, but don't you just NEED a necklace made from real ostrich
shell? Oh, and don't let the idea of "shell" worry you. These
suckers are STRONG.
Price Drop on Green Cebo Lily
Shell
I don't think I ever got a single sale from these. They are pretty
and nice and all that, but they get lost among the more popular things. I
just want to get rid of them now.
Fortnightly Sale
Bexley's Birthday Sale!
My son turns two years old this fortnight, and he gets to choose the
sale. His favorite stone is Fluorite, so all purchases of $10.00 or more
will have a gift from Bexley in them: a bauble made of Fluorite. I'll try
to get the freebie to be close to your main purchase (example, if you buy
marbles, I'll include a free Fluorite marble; if you buy beads, there will be a
free bag of Fluorite beads, etc.). If you buy things that don't have a
Fluorite equivalent, I'll just give you something at random.
This Fortnight's Sale is good through April 9,
2006
Penny Sale
Every two weeks, I hide a new special offer somewhere on my online
site. This listing will offer a certain product for ONE CENT, with any
purchase of $10.00 or more. The item and its location will change every
two weeks, so be sure to look often. Simply go to my online store
site:
and browse until you find the hidden listing. Add it to your cart,
along with the rest of your $10.00+ order, and it will be included for just a
penny. Happy Hunting!
(Recent keen-eyed customers got a STONE HEART PENDANT for a
penny. What will you be able to get this week?)
Insider's Special

choice is ours. There is no limit to the number you may buy, so take a
