New Items
Lots of New Items for Kids!
Toys ahoy, plus candy.  Woohoo!  Turn the kids loose on the site this week!

Bug Clickers
Cute and inexpensive.  These are metal clickers with assorted bug designs on them.  Awesome little gifts for kids--use them in Halloween goody bags and as stocking stuffers.

Wire Puzzles
Another inexpensive item.  Little puzzles made from sturdy wire.  You loved 'em as a kid.  Solutions are included with each puzzle.

Inflatable Globe Ball
Cool toy that can be used as an educational tool.

Jacob's Ladder
Mesmerizing classic wood toy.  I can't stop playing with mine!

Bird & Animal Puzzles
A set of two jigsaw puzzles of the USA, one with common birds and one with common animals found in certain states.

USA Puzzle Map
Something every kid should have.  Classic puzzle of the United States, showing state and capitals, and large cities.

Wood Block Puzzles
These are trickier than they look!  A 4-inch frame holds several geometric wooden puzzle pieces.  Fit them all in if you can!  Sure to give many hours of fun or frustration, depending on your outlook and patience level.

Weather Station
This is so awesome.  This isn't even a toy, really; it's a cool little Weather Channel in a box.  Mount it somewhere outside, and you'll always know the temperature, wind direction & speed, wind chill factor, and rainfall.  We look at ours every day.

Wood Xylophone
Nice little instrument.  Not exactly symphony quality, but I can play the theme from Star Wars on it with no trouble.  Comes with two mallets.

Rock Candy Sticks
No pictures on these yet, but you've seen them before.  Sticks of crystallized sugar in assorted colors and flavors.  Choose from a glittering array of "gems."

Stone Fun Facts
Jade
** "Jade" is an all-purpose name that encompasses two main types of gemstone: Jadeite and Nephrite. Jadeite is the rarer of the two, and comes in a variety of colors, including white, green, red, blue-green, brown, purple, and yellow. The highly prized deep green Imperial Jade is a form of Jadeite. Nephrite is more common, tends to stay in the green range, and it often used for carvings due to its smoothness. (Jade is often dyed to enhance its color.)
** A sacred stone to the Chinese and Mayans, Jade is said to bless everything it touches. Often found in religious carvings, it is thought to be the symbolic link between mankind and the spiritual world, and is highly prized for spiritual growth. It promotes wisdom, peace, harmony, and devotion to one's higher purpose. It also promotes confidence, self reliance, and self-sufficiency, and aids in building dreams into realities.
** The Chinese call jade the yu, which is a word that applies to all precious things. It is the Chinese Royal Gemstone.
** Also known as the Dream Stone, Jade placed under the pillow at night will promote lucid dreaming. It is also said to be the concentrated essence of love, and is a good stone to give to a lover. Jade's ability to promote calm in chaotic environments makes it a good stone for parents of active children to carry. (Quick, give me some Jade!)
** The stone known as New Jade is actually a non-Jade stone called Serpentine. It looks a lot like light, sea green jade, and hence it is called Jade.
** Jade can be used as alternate birthstones for March and August, and is given for the 12th, 30th, and 35th wedding anniversaries.

News & Stuff
New Page
We've created a new "Toys" page, where we've put some of our new items, plus relocated some other items from around the site.  All of the toys are unique and interesting, and for the seriously cool kids only.  Check it out!

Halloween Ideas!
We like to give toys and baubles in goody bags for Halloween rather than just candy.  You'd be surprised what a good reception you get when you offer something different--we've had people come back the next day to tell us how much they liked our goody bags!  I am re-running the page on Halloween ideas, with some new suggestions.  All of these items are low-cost, small, and really neat, and will make yours the coolest house on the street.

Secret Santa Program
We've gotten a few responses to our Secret Santa program, but are still looking for more!  If you'd like to join in the fun of a secret exchange, please sign up on our Secret Santa page.  The name drawing will be held on December 5, so you've got plenty of time, but really, why wait?
