For years we have been wishing that our website host, CityMax, could allow us a way to redeem gift certificates and coupons. The other day I was wandering backstage on the site, looking at the features, and discovered that they have added a redemption feature without telling me! We have tested it out and it works perfectly, so now we will be able to issue gift certificates as well as return customer coupons that are more specific than "Get $2.00 off of shipping." At this point we are still sending out the generic coupons, but eventually we will change them to something more interesting. In the meantime, here's how it works. When you check out, your shopping cart will feature a coupon redemption box. Enter the code of your gift certificate, and click "Update." Presto, your total is reduced by the amount of the gift certificate! We are looking forward to the possibilities and ease of this new feature.
