This is a delicately carved fan made of pure Sandalwood. When waved, it emits a very light fragrance. Each fan is about 8" long, spreads to about 15", and has a pink tassel. (Tassel can be removed if you desire, and you may leave it plain or add a different tassel or ribbon of your choice.) Each fan comes in its own cardboard gift box.
These SHOULD be cool, but, as a true Sandalwood Snob, I can't seem to get into them. They look gorgeous, but I personally don't think the fragrance is as Sandalwoody as it should be. Someone told me that the fans smell differently in different humidity. To me, they smell a little like a stationery store. I'm not kidding. They smell like fresh paper! I thought it might be the smell from the little box the fans come in, so I took one out and let it sit on the counter for a while, and some of the new paper smell did go away, but it still isn't Sandalwood enough for me. My little 4-year-old, who is also a Sandalwood connoisseur, says it smells like incense, which may or may not be a good thing. My husband and 7-year-old tell me they think the fans smell like Sandalwood! So maybe it's just me. You'll have to make up your own mind.
