This is a small polished nugget of pure Baltic Amber with one or more fossil insects embedded in it.
The details below were acquired with the use of a hand-held 30X microscope. Most of these details will NOT be seen with the naked eye. For best viewing, a 30X microscope is recommended. You can buy a microscope HERE, or can purchase one where children's science supplies are sold.

Insect(s) visible: One spider and one unidentified insect
Notes: Spectacular specimen, marred only by the fact that the spider and insect are at the very edge of the piece and are cut off. The spider's legs are in such a position that it appears it is attacking the other bug. Spider's legs and head are clearly visible.
The insect(s) in this specimen can be seen somewhat with the naked eye. Better details can be seen with a magnifying box (sold HERE), but the best detail can be seen with a microscope as mentioned above. |
