Spring Vacations, 2007
Ewan at the Luxor Hotel in Vegas. He is very interested in Ancient Egypt, so visiting the Luxor was a must for him! He had a ball pretending he was in an ancient pyramid.
|
Ewan and Cedric pose with Spongebob Square Pants at the Excalibur Hotel. Ewan poses nicely, and Cedric's like, "Are you for real?"
As a side note, in this picture you can see Ewan's greatly enlarged calf muscles--one of the most striking symptoms of Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy.

Cedric, happy at Venice Beach in California! We tried to get him to go in the water (see picture below), and at first he was reluctant. Then I wrapped him in a towel to keep him warm, held him close, and waded out to sea with him while singing softly in his ear. He enjoyed that, and we had a nice splash.
|
And Bexley, not so happy after having gotten wet. Not understanding what happens with waves at the beach, he'd run in up to his ankles, and a wave crashed over his legs and chest! He ran away crying, but cheered up when Ewan invited him to play in the sand with him.

Cedric, water baby!

Here comes Rio, the seaweed monster! Rio had a great time at the beach. He and I both went in up to our chests. We didn't want to leave!

Ewan, Mum, and palm tree.
|
We got home just in time to see our kittens get born! Ladies and gentlemen, let us introduce Yin, Yang, and Little Sister (who turned out to be a boy, but since we'll be giving the kittens away, we went ahead and kept that name for him!) with their mama Moxie.

Then off to Salt Lake City, where we went to the Hogle Zoo and tried to look at the animals, but the kids were more interested in the giant granite floating globe fountain! (What else would you expect from the kids of a rock dealer?)
|
Mum and kids pose by a bronze rhino at Hogle Zoo. Our trip to Salt Lake wasn't necessarily for pleasure; we went there to take Ewan to a DMD specialist. At least we made the most out of the visit by doing some fun things.
